Rabbi Buchwald is one of the world leaders in the movement of Jewish return today. He served for 15 years as the Director of Education at the Lincoln Square Synagogue in New York, one of the largest and most successful centres of adult Jewish Programming in America and Canada. He is the founder of the National Jewish Outreach Program (NJOP) which coordinates "Turn Friday Night into Shabbas" and many other programs which provide a basic Jewish education as well as joyous Jewish experiences for people the world over.
