Well it's over a week since the Buchwald's arrived here. If you have been to one of the talks / functions feel free to make comment below. (put in your comment almost at the bottom - just above the sponsors)
"I want to convey a big yasher koach to the organizers of Rabbi Buchwald's visit to Melbourne. Rabbi Buchwald's address to our kehilla this morning was no less than outstanding. He was thoroughly enjoyed by all and had a very positive impact Yiddishkeit-wise both on the adults as well as on the UJEB children. Driving him back to Caulfield I learned much about the tremendous work he is doing across America.
"Thank you on behalf of the NEJC community (and please place us first on the list when he next visits Australia).
Warm regards,"

I have been at a number of the lectures by Rabbi Buchwald and must say that his underlying message of trying involve our fellow jews in experiencing the beauty of our religion very inspiring. Judaism has a lot to offer and experiencing the Shabbat is its crowning glory. I for one will try harder to encourage my fellows Jews and hopefully they too will see the beauty of Shabbat.

Rabbi Buchwald from the Broncs in The USA was inspiring last night at Brighton Shule. So many of my thoughts that I've not been able to put into words were conveyed to the whole audience. His stories resonated my deepest thoughts about my own life. Rabbi Buchwald, Thankyou for coming to Australia. I've already relayed your story of the wedding you attended many years ago to some of my friends and they were as touched as I was. Your views on the ways of the world dotted with Your humour, wit and of course Your experience have helped me understand many unfinished views of my own. For anyone looking for a different way to absorb the ways of the modern world and the relevancy of our way of life, this is a man worth listening to. ThankYou again. Shabbat Shalom

Thank you so much, COSV, for bringing the Rabbi. I was at Brighton last night and every word he said about morality and a code of ethics was true

The Lunch ‘n’ Learn at CMA was attended by 14 people and went very well. Rabbi spoke really well. What was interesting was that just before he finished another 3 or 4 men came in for Minchah followed by another 12 men right on 1:15 pm so that there were at least 30 people in the room for Minchah. When thanking people at the end I pointed out that Rabbi will speaking at ABL today at 12:30pm and hopefully this one will go as well as the one yesterday. Rabbi Buchwald met with the RCV and it went very well Last night he spoke to 40 people at Brighton, being an expanded version of what he delivered the Lunch ‘n’ Learn on and again it was really well received and he was quite impressive.

Today, Yeshivah's Years 9 to 12 boys attended an assembly in the Werdiger Hall where they were addressed by Rabbi Ephraim Buchwald, who is visiting the Melbourne Jewish community from New York as a special guest of the Council of Orthodox Synagogues of Victoria [COSV]. Rabbi Buchwald, who runs the organisation called National Jewish Outreach Program in the U.S., spoke to the boys about reaching for their full potential as Jews and captivated the boys with his interesting anecdotes and even sang a humorous Jewish song which actually reflected his theme.

The session with the ladies was fantastic.

I heard that last Friday night at a dinner, he threw a challenge to the Melb frum community. Will they co-ordinate to ensure that every Jewish family can experience Shabbos?

If the price of a chicken will rise due the increased demand because of Rabbi Buchwald's inspiring message, then I am willing to wear this.

I was at the Mount Scopus assembly yesterday (Tisha B'Av) and I'm delighted to report that after a cool start, the students were quite animated. R.B.'s message to the kids was that they need to understand that they have the both the capability and the obligation to make a difference to the lives of others less fortunate (in the sense of Jewish education) than themselves. What I found particularly cute was : walking back to the car, students spontaneously greeted R.B. and thanked him for the talk.
